2.1 In selected countries, WIN’s programme with implementing partners has resulted in measurable increases in integrity and reductions in corruption

Expected Outcomes: - Published government policy document with clear reference to water integrity - Citizens engage on the topic via public hearings, social audits etc. -Organizations take up water integrity within their programmes and access the necessary know-how - WASAs and government institutions work with more integrity: integrity measures applied and results monitored - Periodic data are available on water-related projects in Bangladesh
Expected Outcomes: - Integrity and accountability are mainstreamed in policies, regulatory documents and tools - At least 2 CSO performance reports including data on integrity and gender are published and influence sector monitoring, financing and review mechanisms of government and donors - Water sector organizations in Kenya use water integrity tools in their projects and programmes - WSTF has effective integrity and risk mgt. practices in place and reports on their implementation - Target WRUAs and community groups have improved practices on governance, integrity and stakeholder engagement
Expected Outcomes: - WI Charter is signed and implemented by the major stakeholders in the water sector and mainstreamed in donor strategies and programmes. - National water integrity agenda approved, implemented and monitored by major stakeholders and donors. - Citizens and particularly the Networks of Youth and Members’ of Parliament on water and sanitation engage more on the topic via public hearings, etc. - The national water integrity agenda is monitored and evaluated based on developed indicators - Water integrity modules are integrated in university curricula and implemented Baseline - Water integrity action plans of at least 2 local governments and Soneb implemented

WIN researches the impact of corruption and poor integrity in the water sector and advocates for integrity as a crucial requirement to achieve the global development agenda. We develop and promote tools for Transparency, Accountability, Participation, and Anti-corruption (TAP-A) in specific countries and partner programmes. We focus on capacity development and risk prevention in all our work, with the aim of improving water sector performance to the benefit of all, especially the most vulnerable.
