In response to the crisis in Ukraine and the resulting impact on those still in the country as well as the millions currently fleeing, Save the Children is launching one of our largest ever humanitarian responses. We have launched a response in Ukraine and in neighbouring countries and we will coordinate our efforts with our offices in countries across Europe.
As a child rights organisation, the common thread across all of these distinct responses will be our focus on the needs of children. By delivering health, water, sanitation and nutrition services, we will ensure that children survive this devastating crisis. By focusing on social and emotional wellbeing and with our safe return to learning approach, we will ensure that children continue to learn, despite displacement and disruption to education services. By prioritising services for particularly vulnerable children, unaccompanied minors and children with disabilities and by providing services to prevent, trace and reunify families, we will ensure that children are protected from additional harm. By distributing cash grants and vouchers, we will ensure that children and their families have a safety net to get them through this crisis and build resilience. And by advocating with governments across the globe, we will ensure that the rights of children are upheld. Across our responses, we respond to the deep psychological impacts of conflict and displacement through our quality MHPSS approaches, and ensure tailored age-appropriate and gender sensitive interventions throughout.
