Bangladesh Rohingya Crisis
Oxfam will provide technical input on emergency WASH response activities to improve access to and utilization of safe water supplies and sanitation facilities and CARE's supporting interventions will include community mobilization and a public health information and education campaign (IEC). The interface of these components will augment delivery of intensive hygiene promotion activities with particular attention to the needs, participation and representation of women and girls. Specific attention will be given to ensure the entire intervention is undertaken through a responsive, inclusive and gender and disability-sensitive lens.

The Bangladesh Rural (REE-CALL) Resilience project aims to strengthen community resilience in disaster-prone rural and urban areas of Bangladesh under four thematic areas: disaster preparedness; gender equality and women’s leadership; economic empowerment; and water, sanitation and hygiene. AHP Phase II Bangladesh Rohingya Crisis Humanitarian Response (BGD-0018)
The project supports vulnerable communities - both Rohingya refugees and host communities - with an integrated and inclusive project consisting of: health (including sexual and reproductive health, mental health and psychosocial support), education, integrated protection, and water and sanitation health (WASH) services. The project involves building thousands of latrines and also seeking to influence design specifications for the humanitarian response in Rohinga, including improved sanitation facilities such as bio-fill latrines, twin pit latrine, effluent pit latrine, raised platform latrine and accessible and private women-friendly bathing spaces.
