Global Grant to BBC Media Action
Support towards meeting the information and communication needs of people living in poverty with a particular emphasis on fragile states.
The Global Grant is expected to reach over 200 million people in 14 target countries (with a particular focus on fragile states) with media and communications outputs that contribute to creating better governance, healthier populations and an increased ability to cope with crises. Specifically, individuals, communities and governments in 14 target countries will be better informed and more engaged in tackling challenges in governance, health, and crises through:
· Strengthened communication platforms for domestic accountability and public dialogue
· Enhanced access to information and engagement around reproductive, maternal, neonatal and child health
· Enhanced access to information and communication aimed at improving communities’ resilience to humanitarian crises (with a focus on climate-related risks)
· A strengthened evidence base on the role of media and communication in democratic development, including the role of donor support;

Zambia Speaks
The project is increasing engagement and participation in political process in Zambia, through provision of strengthened media platforms for accountability and public dialogue. The project is particularly targeting women and rural audiences under-represented in political processes and underserved by mainstream media. In June 2016, an additional £49,950 was granted to support MUVI TV to deliver TV election debates. In November 2016, the project was expanded to include a radio drama addressing social norms and an endline quant survey.

Improving access to family planning for people with disabilities in northern Nigeria
The objective of the project is to promote access to inclusive family planning for people with disabilities in Northern Nigeria. The project will last for three years (starting in January 2022) and will aim to achieve three key outcomes:
1. People with disabilities having increased knowledge of, intention to use, and perceived support from others to access, available family planning services.
2. Service providers delivering inclusive, accessible healthcare services and information to people with disabilities.
3. OPDs meaningfully engaging in policy and decision-making processes and advocating for disability inclusion in the health sector through different structures.
Ultimately, through the achievement of these outcomes, the project aims to contribute to the reduction of unmet need for family planning and increased access to and use of available modern contraceptive methods by people with disabilities in the target project areas.
