Sexual Rights Initiative (2018-2020)
The Sexual Rights Initiative (SRI) is a feminist coalition of national and regional organizations from each UN region that come together to advance an intersectional feminist approach to sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) throughout the UN human rights system.
1. Build a strong intersectional feminist knowledge base and analysis with feminist thinkers-advocates from academic and research institutions, CSOs and movements, and use these ideas to advance and defend SRHR norms and standards.
2. Build the individual and collective power of feminist and SRHR advocates, particularly from the Global South, to (re)claim UN human rights spaces for accountability and justice.
3. Shore up support for SRHR by expanding our engagement with a wider set of states, particularly focusing on silent, undecided or states with ambivalent positions on SRHR.
4. Continue to improve our ways of working to better align with our intersectional, feminist, decolonial politics .
