Research on Food Assistance for Nutritional Impact (REFANI)
Aims to ensure more effective humanitarian interventions by strengthening the evidence base on the impact of cash and voucher-based food assistance to prevent undernutrition in emergencies. Primary outcomes expected are:(1) the creation of high-quality, relevant research that fills gaps in the evidence base;(2) the accessibility of results and evidence to both technical and non-technical audiences;and (3) the successful uptake of REFANI research by key stakeholders in policy and practice.

Start Alert 399 Pakistan (Winter Storms)
This fund will fill the gap in humanitarian response and save the lives and animals of disaster effected people in Balochistan. This 45-days project implementation will support affected families, and the most vulnerable in particular, to immediately access food and non-food items, firewood, medicines, and winterized kits (clothing and bedding), enabling them to stay warm and healthy, have food and survive the harsh weather along with sustenance for livestock. ACF is leading the consortium, with HelpAge International and Qatar Charity as consortium partners. Taraqee Foundation will work as implementing partner for Action Against Hunger; Balochistan Rural Development Society will be the implementing partner of HelpAge International. ACF will lead implementation of the food security and the livelihood components, whereas Qatar Charity will implement distribution of Non-Food Items and HelpAge International will lead the Health and Psychosocial Support activities.
Rain and heavy snow fall affected communities secure their basic needs with appropriate relief items distributions and assistance. The community have better access to food, fodder, winterization kits and health assistance to reduce the local vulnerability. More specifically, these are: - Availability of food for the most vulnerable groups - Availability of fodder for the livestock - To provide and fulfil the immediate emergency needs to stay warm in this harsh weather - Provision of basic health facilities in extreme cold weather - Provision of medicines and functional BHUs in extreme cold weather
The project will benefit an estimated 25,000 households, covering approximately 200,000 people.
